My Classmates Blogs

My classmates are very intelligent when it comes to interesting stuff. They are great blog writers. Some of their blogs are great!
In Will's Blog about Warp Tour is great. I am personally going myself. But with his blog I learned more of what to expect.
In Eric's Blog he talks about what he found on Itunes. It was very brief but at least it gave some examples of what there is to find. I think he should have maybe added some links or graphics.
In Katherine's Blog she has pictures ibn her family blog. It's very detailed and the pictures makes sense of the blog. It really is a great blog.
In Alonzo's Blog he has very interesting stuff. I love his writing. I like the blog that I have linked you to. It has a video "Cool Gadgets." Its a very futuristic blog.
In Lijah's Blog he wrote a personal blog. He wants to know how to build a computer. He adds a link that would be helpful. I think he should have wrote a little more.
I loved reading other peers blogs. I think you should check them out.

Review of Podcast: Chairman Wong

I listened to the podcast called Chairman Wong, on Geoffrey's Podcast. This podcast is about Jin Au-Yeung, a Chinese-American rapper. Geoffrey, the writer of this podcast, seems to idolize Jin. This podcast, is a biography of Jin's music life. He informs us about who he is. He let's us know that Jin is a rapper and an actor and how he was discovered. Throughout the podcast, Jin's music is playing in the background as we learn about his career. This podcast gives a lot of information. The beginning starts on boring and bland. But as it goes on the music with the Geoffrey's voice, makes it more interesting. I enjoyed this podcast. If you want to learn about Jin, why he is idolized, or a good way to keep the audience liking your podcast, I suggest checking it out.

Review of Podcast: Lisas Podcast About Stuff

I listened to a podcast called, "Lisas Podcast About Stuff." The podcast is on Lisa's Podcast by of course, Lisa. Her podcast is great. This podcast is about the Capuchino High School Music Program. She herself is in the concert band. She talks at a tone that keeps you interested. It sounds like she is having a great conversation with you. The podcast also includes music and sound effects in the beginning and the end, it sounds great. She tells us about the Spring Concert @ Cap and about her plans with music and going to Disneyland for a "band competition." If you want to know more, hear her talk, or find out what a great podcast sounds like, I recommend you check it out.

Spring Time

Most people love spring. The weather is usually beautiful. The birds are out and everything is peaceful. But for me, I love it and hate it. In Spring my allergies act up. I end up staying home from school because I can't get out of bed. I'm allergic to some of the blooming plants, grass, dust, and pollen. I get dizzy with head rushes, headaches, runny noses, and hives. I have to take medicine all the time. I feel like I get put on house arrest. Living with allergies makes the beautiful Spring season put you in a bad mood.

First Time on iTunes

I have just used iTunes for the first time today. I used it for finding podcasts. It was a new and interesting experience. Some of the podcasts took a long time to load but that problem was probably with the computer. But podcasts really gave me a bigger view on the outside world.

My Family

My family comes from all over. They are all different races, different ages, and they have different personalities, different beliefs, my family members are all different. Anyone who loves me and cares for me is my family. Those who are there for me and whom I can trust are a part of my family.
My family could be those who are related to me by blood or marriage. The list of last names that the people in this category goes on forever. My my family heritage tree has bunches of last names: Reese, Sanz, Camins, Ivenoff, Garcia, Rominquet, Naluce, Manensala, and many more.
My family could also be my friends and their family. I consider Kim, Morgan, Jocelyn, and Melissa my sisters. There families look at me like another daughter. My other girl friends and my guy friends are all a part of my family. My family are those who are close to my relatives and friends that soon become close to me.
There has never been a time in my life when it was possible for me to have all my family together. My family is so extended. Whenever there are get-togethers they are always full of fun, laughter, talk, and drama. But I love my family with all my heart.

Copyright Law

Copyrighting is the law that protects works of authors, artists, companies, etc. from being copied. We have the copyright law to reserve the right of credit. It prevents money being taken from companies, people, and so forth. It makes copying of materials, that should be bough, illegal.
Copyright protects the work of people from being copied and losing credit. There are copyright laws to keep people from losing credit and money. But it allows the public the right to use a fair amount of the work for good purposes.
Fair use is knowing what and how much of someone else’s work you can use. Fair use does not give the public the right to use whatever it wants. There are limits to what is fair.
Copyrighted work can not be put on a a school website without written permission because that is nto fair use. The owner of the work would lose credit. Almost everything on the web is copyrighted.

Creative commons means "some rights reserved."

Fuzzy Logic

Dragon Science teaches about Fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic is giving machines the ability to act and solve problems the way a human does. The idea of fuzzy logic was created by Lotfi Zadeh, in the 1960s at the University of California at Berkeley. The idea soon spread to Japan, then China. Now China has the most specialist working on fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic will be less expensive.
I think that it is an interesting idea. It seems great and helpful. But I'm also scared that soon machine will take jobs that humans do and the machines can start running the world. While more and more humans go jobless.

The Meaning of Family

When I hear the word "family" I don't think of just people that I am related to by blood and marriage. I think of all the people close to me. People who are in my life no matter what happens. Someone who cares and I can trust. My family is full of relatives, friends, and even pets. Family is simply a group of people that will never purposely hurt you and will be there if someone else does. They are a group of people that supports one another.
My family is full of a variety of people. There are relatives, close friends of mine and my relatives. There are multiple generations in my family.
The quote, "Families evolve from a patchwork of possibilities" means that family comes from all over. There are mulitple possibilities about your family. It can be different races, skills, assets that you didn't know people had.
From a family of two can expand to millions. If I consider my best friend my family, her sister is connected to my family, so her sister's best friend is a family member to all three of us in someway. So everyone is connected one way or another. If you are mean to one person on this earth then you are being mean to a part of your family. Every person of your family is a patch of long green grass. If you destroy one person, there will be a brown spot on the grass.

Its Done: Overlook of our Project

This project was very interesting. I learned a lot on how you should break down paired projects into different parts and to make a plan. We finally turned in the project to Mr. Hinman and presented it to the class. It turned out okay. We should've edited it a little more.
Some feedback we got was that we should make sure that we record interviews so that the interviewer and the interviewee can be heard the same. Some people thought that we made a good choice in choosing our topic. However, some thought that it was useless and boring.
All in all, the project was a great experience for me. I learned a lot on how to work without specific guidelines. I really enjoyed doing projects like this.

Almost Done

After a lot hard work and thoughtful planning Katherine and myself have almost completed the whole project. We have finished the treatment. We made and distributed our surveys. We interviewed the two different sides. We also have our layout for the video done.
We just need to fix some little errors in making the videos play and we need to graph our surveys.

Treatment

Our project includes the voluntary participation of young adults within the ages of 13-18. Our topic question for is: "What will motivate young adults to become more involved with their school and their community?" We want to be able to learn ideas from the students and adults in our own community. If we get enough good input maybe we will be able to share these ideas with the leaders of the community. One way to figure out the input of young adults is through creating a well-structured survey. We thought that by creating a survey, we would be able to get our own perspective on how well students are involved in their own communities. We just hope that the surveyors' opinions on this topic would be taken in a serious matter.

Along with the survey we will include graphs, pictures, video clips, an I-movie, and other sources we use for references besides people. Through all of these references, we would be able to attain the justified amount of information to draw out a final conclusion on our topic. Believe it or not, we are both looking forward to seeing the results. We thought that this survey would also help and give us more information on how and what we both could do to get more involved in our own communities. We could even use the results to our own extent; whether we would decide to follow some of our surveyor‘s suggestions or not. Hopefully our project will be interesting and teach a lot to the society.

Pitfalls and Difficulites

Some pitfalls I'm noticing that may be a problem to my research is that some students don't want to give any comments. We may also learn that people may say its impossible unless you have a million dollars.
But some things I've gotten connected with is that students like to be rewarded and to have fun. So if the community and the school would offer fun and good, not cheesy, rewards and jobs we would make great success.

Day Two of Global Com Project

This weekend I did some research on my topic and got a few good facts. I asked a few students and a few adults for some ideas on what they thought of my topic. I got some very helpful responses. Most of the students told me that they also wonder what can be done for everyone to participate in the community. They told me they thought the biggest problem is that we all want to "impress the crowd." However some students said they don't think anything can be done to get teenagers involved in the community. The adults were very excited to hear that there are kids who want to become more involved. Hopefully the majority is right. But it will be interesting to see how we can motivate everyone to become involved, no matter who they are.

Global Com Project: Step 1

My topic question for the project is "What will motivate young adults to become involved in their school and community.?" My partner in this project is Katherine. We are hoping that our multimedia part of the project will be interesting. We are going to record interviews with some of the people we survey. We may write a song that goes with our results and record it through garage band. We can also make a Imovie with pictures of people we interviewed and ideas they gave.
